Turn on your light, the light of Christ, so that others can see it
Your light must always be in the highest position, this light is the light of Christ, because when we are in His Word we are illuminated by it, and in the middle of the darkness it is turned on so that we can see, Christ is our light in the middle out of the darkness.
Being Christ’s light is not so that we have it hidden, but so that others can see that Christ lives and dwells in us, and so other people will be able to see that Christ can also enter their lives, so we are light.
Setting an example in all kinds of circumstances is best, because wherever we are, we make His light known, and in this way people will also be able to notice that Christ is in us.
So we will quote a very important verse in the book of Matthew that tells us about this light. Let’s see:
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 5:15-16
Jesus speaks clearly to us and puts for example a lamp, this so that the disciples and the crowd could understand this example about light.
Jesus tells them that in order for a lamp to light it must be at a certain height in order to be able to light and that everyone can see. If instead you place it under a table, nobody will be able to see because everything will be dark. By this Jesus means to you that we as his light must hold it aloft so that others can see in the dark, so that we can teach others about the work of God in our lives.
