Sometimes we say that we will sacrifice ourselves in honor of the Lord, that all we will do will be for the Lord, that we will do it with love and that it will be for His honor. And so it must be since our Lord Jesus did it for each one of us.
Every day we must manifest love towards God with grace and dedication, because if we have love, this was thanks to Him, that is why we must do things according to how they are written in His Word.
By sacrificing in honor of God, we have gain, because we are doing it for our Savior, the one who freed us from slavery in which Satan had us. That is why everything should be with honor and praise to God. He deserves it.
Something very important is that the sacrifice must always be accompanied by mercy, kindness, obedience, because if it is not accompanied by these things, such a sacrifice will be of no use.
The letter to Titus throws us some powerful and at the same time correction words and for us to remember that just as our heavenly Father does good, we must also do it in His name.
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Titus 2:14
In this way, as the Lord was able to sacrifice himself for us, to bring freedom to our spirit that was in captivity, so let us work with love and with a heart full of mercy, being gratified in everything by virtue given by our God, being chosen to bring the word of salvation to everyone who does not know about it.
But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord.
Jonah 2:9
Take as an example the previous verse of Jonah. He gives thanks and praises completely to God for His love and because He is the God of his salvation. He says he will offer sacrifice to God, pay what he promised. God, seeing this, was pleasing before Him. Joshua gave his praises and honors God with love and sacrifice.
