Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness
Today, we encounter many people who prioritize earthly pursuits and neglect the spiritual.
We often see individuals moving from one place to another, asking God to fulfill their needs. Once their desires are met, they forget to seek spiritual growth. However, the Bible teaches us:
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 6:33
This verse emphasizes the importance of seeking God before anything else. When we prioritize our relationship with God, everything else will fall into place.
What benefit is there in gaining everything if we lose our spiritual well-being by prioritizing earthly things? Let’s consider more scripture on this topic:
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Matthew 6:25
These words of Jesus remind us not to worry about our basic needs. Life is more than food and clothing. God wants us to focus on the spiritual rather than the material.
For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
Matthew 6:32
The Bible assures us that God is aware of our needs and is in control. We should not be anxious about the future because He knows our necessities.
Every day, we should place our trust in the Lord, believing He will provide for us. When we shift our focus to earthly matters and stop trusting Him, our faith diminishes, and we lose our way.
It is crucial to seek God above all else and to trust in Him, for nothing is impossible for Him.
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
