The bliss of brotherly love

As children of God, we are incredibly blessed to have the immense love bestowed upon us by our heavenly Father, the Creator of all things.

This love is eternal, never fading, and it is a gift we must not just possess but also demonstrate and teach about. We should highlight the source of this love, which is God Himself.

Living together in harmony, worshipping, and glorifying the name of our almighty God is not only good but crucial. Why together? Because our unity makes us stronger. With God’s omnipotence amidst a community filled with love, mercy, and compassion, we are guided by Him at all times.

In harmony

We should all share a common devotion, offering everything to our Lord, and sharing all good things with our brothers and sisters. We should lift our hands in honor of our heavenly Father, the Creator of everything around us.

The Psalmist David expressed this beautifully in Psalm 133:

1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;

Psalm 133:1-2

David, a wise man who felt immense tranquility while tending his sheep in the fields, could hear only the sounds of streams and the wind around him. He could play a harmonious instrument that brought peace and joy to everyone who listened.

This unity is like the precious oil poured on the heads of the saints of the Lord. David described this oil as running down from Aaron’s head to his beard, signifying Aaron’s privilege of hearing God’s voice.

There is nothing better than being in the Presence of the Lord and receiving His peace and abundant love.

As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

Psalm 133:3

David spoke of this beauty because he knew what it was like to be in the Presence of the Lord, to feel the essence sent by God in that place. The dew that descended on Mount Zion symbolized God’s blessing and eternal life.

Let us praise God at all times, give Him glory, and be united in everything. God is faithful and will be with His people every day, pouring out blessings, love, and peace. His mercy will be with us day after day, as the goodness of God is manifested through the harmony and unity of all His saints. Amen.
