The joy that our Lord gives is what enriches us, gives us peace of mind in the midst of the storm.
This joy endures and does not end, so we must be in the way of the Lord in order to enjoy this joy that the Lord gives us.
The same Bible tells us about the joy of our Lord, this joy becomes our strength, because it is hope for us and this is what helps us to follow in God’s way.
6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
Psalm 51:6-12
Let us rejoice in the Lord every day, let’s not be sad for anything, because our Lord is by our side and sustains us every day.
In the previous verses we find an appeal from the psalmist David to God. We know that David sinned against God on several occasions, but in spite of that he was a fearful man with a humble heart, who recognized his fault before God.
The psalmist in this psalm explains that he was asking God for his life, to erase his sin and purify and cleanse him, this he did because he knew that in the Lord could be more than certain.
God forgave him, raised and renewed his life when He saw his heart, but later in chapter 51 of verse 12 David says other words: “Return to me the joy of your salvation, And noble spirit sustain me.” When we humble ourselves before God like David we will receive that joy we need from the Lord.
Let us be wise and rejoice in our God, so when those moments come that want to divert us from His Presence we can resist and continue in the Lord.
