O Lord, do not be far from me
At times, we feel alone and abandoned, but God is always with us, covering and protecting us from our adversaries.
David experienced moments of loneliness and doubt, prompting his heartfelt supplications to God:
But be not thou far from me, O Lord: O my strength, haste thee to help me.
Psalm 22:19
Despite his failings, David knew God was his strength and sought His presence continually.
Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.
Psalm 22:20
We must place our total trust in God, as David did, humbling ourselves and seeking His help in times of need. God fights our battles and protects us.
Save me from the lion’s mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.
Psalm 22:21
God is our refuge, and we should not fear, for His love and mercy are ever upon us.
